// HAPPY BIRTHDAYS: Trevor Vickers & George Haynes
We wished Trevor a happy 80th birthday in October, and congratulations to George on his 85th birthday in November.

// STATE OF ABSTRACTION: Art Gallery of Western Australia
A large cohort of Art Collective WA member artists are featured in this new exhibition at AGWA, including: Helen Smith, Vanessa Russ, Jo Darbyshire, Theo Koning, George Haynes, Giles Hohnen, Michele Theunissen, Cathy Blanchflower, Trevor Vickers, Jeremy Kirwan-Ward, Alex Spremberg. 'State of Abstraction brings together abstract works by some of Western Australia’s most historically important artists alongside newcomers and lesser-known makers.'
Open 4 November 2023 – 10 March 2024. Free Entry. Open daily, except Tuesdays.

// JON TARRY: SCULPTURE BY THE SEA BONDI
Jon Tarry is exhibiting his sculpture Marco Polo Airport Runway VCE at Sculpture by the Sea in Bondi. Until 6 November. (Olga Cironis judged it this year too). Jon also has a new land art project in Victoria coming up.

// JO DARBYSHIRE & TONY WINDBERG: Meeandip/Garden Island - connected/disconnected
Jo and Tony show alongside Susanna Castleden and Bradley Kickett at Rockingham Arts Centre. The artists reflect on the island's history, identity, and our connection to the natural world. Open 8–27 November 2023. Free entry. Wed–Sun, 10am–4pm. Artist talks: Saturday 11 November, 2pm.

// BRAD RIMMER AND MICHELE THEUNISSEN: LOOKING UP 
Brad Rimmer and Michele Theunissen are exhibiting in Looking Up, an outdoor projection series at the Perth Cultural Centre. Until 4 December.

// PENNY COSS: WILDFLOWER SEASON 
Penny Coss is exhibiting in a group show at Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery which explores the WA's unique floral ecosystem. Until 9 December. 

// TONY WINDBERG: COMMON GROUND
Tony Windberg is the 2023 Parliament House and Edith Cowan University artist-in-residence. His new work Common Ground responds to the 'colourful history of the Parliament House building process'. Opening Thursday 9 November.

// BRAD RIMMER: NEW ACQUISITIONS
Brad Rimmer's work Sometimes I Wish 2, Autumn 2021, has been acquired by Murdoch University Art Collection and will be on display from 11 November. 

// ANGELA STEWART: TEN residency, Vasse Felix
Angela Stewart will be the artist in residence during the Collective's exhibition that celebrates 10 years of operation. The group show features works by all the Collective's 36 member artists at Holmes à Court Gallery at Vasse Felix in Margaret River. Visit Angela there: 15 November – 3 December.
Also join Angela and other member artists for a walk through of the exhibition. 11am, Sunday 3 December. Read the exhibition catalogue essay by John Barrett-Lennard.

// BRAD RIMMER & JENNIFER COCHRANE: Mid West Art Prize
Congratulations to Brad & Jennifer on their selection as Finalists in the 8th Mid West Art Prize at Geraldton Regional Art Gallery, alongside Collective alumnus artist Lesley Munro. The Prize is open to all artists working in any medium and residing in Western Australia, with a substantial prize pool of $26,500. Winners to be announced Saturday 9 December 2023. Exhibition open 10 December 2023 – 4 February 2024. Mon-Fri 9am-4pm, Sat + Sun 9:30am-1:30pm.

// STUART ELLIOTT: solo at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery
Stuart will present a solo exhibition 'Ingress', courtesy of a partnership between the Collective and BRAG. Exhibition open:16 December 2023 – 18 February 2024.

// DJUNJA RMANDIĆ: guest curator
Our last show of the year, 'A Concentrated Experience' is a group exhibition curated by Dunja Rmandić. Collective artists featured include Eveline Kotai, Trevor Vickers, joined by guest artists Pam Gaunt, Jacky Cheng, and Sarah Thornton-Smith. Opening Saturday 25 November, 2-4pm. Exhibition open during our usual opening hours, 25 November – 20 December 2023.
